Today, the amazing gift of supernatural physical healing still works because I trust the Bible. I believe healing can happen because I trust in a powerful God (see James 5:14). Miracles of physical healing show God’s love and care, and they also indicate spiritual healing, like the forgiveness of sins and salvation. When Jesus was on Earth, He felt compassion for the sick and afflicted, and He healed them.
Although many people still believe in miraculous healings, it’s still a mystery why some people are healed and others are not. This mystery leads to profound theological questions about God’s intentions and the role of faith in healing. This mystery raises important questions about God’s plans and the role of faith in healing. The story of the apostle Paul, seeking healing for a physical ailment, shows how faith is crucial, but also emphasizes that God’s will is significant in miraculous healing.
The stories of Job, Psalms 73, and the man born blind in John 9 show that suffering doesn’t always come from personal sin, and being righteous doesn’t guarantee miraculous healing. This challenges the idea that faith alone determines healing.
One’s faith cannot be the main factor, but rather God’s will. It’s not about how much faith we have, but about what or who we put our faith in. Even if our faith is as small as a mustard seed, it can still move mountains (cf. Matt. 17:20). Whether healing happens through a miracle or medical treatment, it all comes down to God’s will.
Instead of boasting about how much faith one has, believers are challenged to truly embody it by finding strength in Christ, dedicating time to prayer, worship, and Scripture. They are called to authentically demonstrate their connection with Jesus through their daily intentional Christlikeness.
