It’s important to remember that everything humanity has achieved is only possible because of divine grace. No one, not even humans or any other creature, deserves anything. Salvation and Creation itself are all because of grace. Every person has received everything from God’s fullness.
This endless grace is always at work when the limited creature comes to the limitless Creator. The heavenly beings get their impressive wings because of His grace. The angelic ranks and the radiant entities described in the Bible receive their gifts through His abundant grace upon grace.
In this context, we might think about all the things we have received from God’s kindness, even if we haven’t chosen to believe in Him yet. Our very life, our intelligence, and our memories are all gifts from God. Every good thing comes from God’s kindness. Jesus Christ is the way that God blesses both good people and bad people.
When we think about how long we live, it’s clear that we can’t achieve it through our efforts. It doesn’t depend on how good or bad we are. Understanding this leads to admitting that everything comes from God’s kindness, because the whole universe benefits from His kindness and goodness.
In the fifth chapter of Revelation, John writes about everyone praising Jesus, who sacrificed himself. All creatures from every realm come together to glorify Jesus Christ, recognizing that the whole universe receives God’s abundant grace through him.
When we share about Christ with others, we need to remember that they have already received grace. Our role is to introduce them to Jesus Christ as their Redeemer.
Therefore, when we encourage someone who doesn’t believe to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,” we are basically asking them to have faith in the One who supports, sustains, has compassion, shows mercy, and gives life. It is an invitation to have faith in the One from whom they came.
