New Podcast Episode
Prayer is one of the simplest things a Christian can do—and one of the easiest things to neglect.
In Colossians 4:2, Paul gives the church three closely connected instructions: continue in prayer, remain watchful, and give thanks.
In this episode, we explore how persistence keeps prayer alive when answers are delayed, how watchfulness guards us against spiritual sleep, and how thanksgiving keeps prayer rooted in grace rather than anxiety or entitlement.
Listen to When Prayer Becomes the Posture of Life.
About This Episode
Prayer is not merely an emergency response for moments when every other option has failed. It is the ordinary posture of a life lived before God.
In Colossians 4:2, Paul calls believers to continue earnestly in prayer, remain vigilant, and give thanks. These three movements belong together.
Persistence keeps us praying when answers are delayed. Watchfulness prevents prayer from becoming mechanical or spiritually sleepy. Thanksgiving reminds us that before we ask for more grace, we already stand within the grace God has given us in Jesus Christ.
This episode also considers prayer as intercession, spiritual discernment, resistance to anxiety, dependence upon God, and preparation for mission.
Prayerlessness may sometimes arise from exhaustion or deep pain. But it can also reveal self-sufficiency—the quiet belief that our plans, strength, and wisdom are enough.
Prayer confesses otherwise.
It says:
“Father, I need You.”
The church does not merely need louder platforms, better programs, or sharper arguments. It needs people who know how to pray.
