Trusting God in the Dark: When Everything Falls Apart | Podcast

What does it mean to trust God when everything we have hoped for seems to be falling apart?

On the night of His betrayal, Jesus told His disciples, “Do not let your hearts be troubled” (John 14:1). These words were spoken in the shadow of the cross, when the disciples’ hopes appeared to be collapsing and the future they had imagined was slipping away.

In this biblical podcast reflection, we explore why Christian faith does not require us to deny our pain or pretend that darkness is light. Jesus calls us to trust Him even when the circumstances surrounding us seem to contradict everything we have believed about God’s promises.

Faith is not pretending that the darkness is light. Faith is holding on to Jesus while it is still dark.

The cross reminds us that apparent defeat does not mean God has abandoned His redemptive purpose. The resurrection assures us that suffering and death will not have the final word.

Listen to this episode of Scripture, Theology, and Life, and reflect on the hope that remains even when the night seems darkest.
